Why we are sharing it
Kilimanjaro, without the crowd
White Mountain Camp takes the same mountain and the same summit and changes everything around them: a private camp, a chef, a doctor and hot water, on the most beautiful route up. Their own phrase for it is raw altitude, refined execution.
We refer travellers to it by application. We read every application ourselves, and we only introduce people who are ready for seven days at altitude. That is what keeps the experience what it is.

A five-star lodge, both ends
Private transfers to and from Kilimanjaro International Airport, and a night at a boutique lodge before the climb and after it, half board.
A camp built for the mountain
Arctic expedition tents made with HEIMPLANET, elevated trail beds, proper linens and Swiss down duvets. Single, twin and double.
A private chef at altitude
Western and local dishes cooked in camp from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
A doctor with the group
A dedicated mountain doctor on hand around the clock, with a medical check every day of the climb.

The route with the view
The Lemosho Route: six to eight hours a day, roughly 8 to 15 kilometres, from rainforest to moorland to the glaciers below the summit.

The climb, day by day
The Lemosho Route is widely considered the most beautiful approach to the summit, with a strong acclimatisation profile and one of the highest success rates on the mountain.
Arrival
Kilimanjaro International Airport
Met at JRO and driven to the lodge. Meet your lead guide that evening and check every piece of kit.
Day 1
Lemosho Gate to Big Tree Camp
Permits at the gate, then into the rainforest, with colobus monkeys in the canopy.
Day 2
Shira Camp I, about 3,500m
Heather and moorland, across the Shira Ridge to one of the highest plateaus on earth. Kibo comes into view.
Day 3
Shira Camp II
Across the plateau toward the Northern Ice Fields, with an acclimatisation walk above camp.
Day 4
Lava Tower, 4,640m, to Barranco Camp, 3,960m
Climb high, sleep low. Lunch below the Lava Tower, then down into the Great Barranco Valley.
Day 5
The Barranco Wall to Barafu Camp, 4,640m
A dramatic but manageable scramble, then scree and sky to base camp. Rest before the night.
Day 6
Summit: Uhuru Peak, 5,895m
Out near midnight. Stella Point at dawn, then the highest point in Africa, and down to Millennium Camp.
Day 7
Down through the forest to Mweka Gate
Back to the lodge for a long shower. Summit certificates at dinner.

Home, or on to safari
After breakfast, the flight home, or more time in Tanzania.
