Luxury Yachts in Sukošan

Weekly crewed yacht charters from Marina Dalmacija, Sukošan, about 10 minutes from Zadar Airport. Kornati National Park, Telašćica and Zadar. Book direct.

Sukošan sits just south of Zadar, and Marina Dalmacija there is one of the largest marinas on the Adriatic. It is the base for the northern Dalmatian archipelago, which is quieter than the islands off Split and, for many guests, more beautiful: hundreds of islands and islets, most of them uninhabited, with the Kornati National Park at their centre. Zadar Airport (ZAD) is about ten minutes by road, so a group can land and be aboard the same afternoon. The yachts here are chartered by the week with their crew, and a typical week runs between Zadar's old town, Telašćica on Dugi Otok and the Kornati anchorages.

Kornati National Park

A long chain of bare, pale islands and clear water, protected as a national park. Entry is ticketed, and the crew arranges it. Days here are about swimming and anchorages, not harbour towns.

Telašćica, Dugi Otok

A deep, sheltered bay protected as a nature park, with a salt lake and sea cliffs on the outer side. One of the calmest overnight anchorages in the archipelago.

Zadar

The old town on its peninsula, with the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun on the waterfront. Close to the marina, so it suits the first or the last evening.

Ugljan and Pašman

The islands directly across from the marina, with small harbours and quiet bays. Short runs for a first afternoon or a slow day.

What Sukošan Is Known For

Kornati National Park, a protected chain of bare islands and clear water. Telašćica's sheltered bay and salt lake on Dugi Otok. Zadar Airport about ten minutes from the berth. Quieter anchorages than the islands off Split in high summer. Zadar old town and the Sea Organ on the first or last evening.

Best Time to Visit Sukošan

May to October is the season, with June and September the best balance of warm sea and quiet anchorages. July and August are the peak; the Kornati are still far less crowded than the central islands. The afternoon maestral is the usual summer wind, and the captains plan around a bura when one is forecast.

Getting There

Zadar Airport (ZAD) is about ten minutes by road from Marina Dalmacija in Sukošan. Split Airport is roughly two hours by motorway if flights into Zadar do not suit.

Can we charter for a day rather than a week?

The yachts listed here are offered by the week as standard. Shorter charters are not offered as standard; ask us and we will check with the crew.

What is the APA?

The advance provisioning allowance, 35% of the charter rate, paid on top of the rate. It covers fuel, food, drinks, port and marina fees during the week.

Why start from Sukošan rather than Split?

For the Kornati and the northern archipelago, which are quieter than the islands off Split and a long run from there. If the week is about Hvar and Vis, start from Split or Trogir instead.
