A Marrakech wedding is one of the last remaining destination trips where the venue and the story are the same thing. A Palmeraie estate or a proper palais does what a hotel ballroom never can: the guests walk through gates that close behind them, the courtyards become the ceremony and the dance floor, and by the time the second night is dessert on the roof the whole wedding has taken on the shape of the house rather than the shape of a hotel schedule.

The homes in this set were chosen because they actually hold a wedding. Palais Eliah gives twenty four guests on property and up to two hundred for the ceremony with the tented dinner set up on the lawn. Villa D Marrakech is the Studio KO estate that shoots as well as it lives, with kitchens that a hired brigade can cook out of. Villa Kemgia sleeps eighteen and clears the courtyard for a smaller wedding of eighty to a hundred. Villa Aurea is the intimate option: a ten guest estate that runs the elopement or the closest-thirty version.

Marrakech weddings work only if the logistics are handled by someone who has done them before.
